What we offer
Waste diversion and return-freight tracking, end to end.
Collection, sorting, recovery, return-freight tracking, and verified diversion data capture — all managed by a single, dedicated contractor.
Two ways to work with us
We come to you — or your trucks come to us.
Every operation's logistics are different. Pick the scenario that matches how material already moves through your network — both end at the same place: verified diversion data.
Scenario A · On-site recovery
We collect from your DC.
- How material moves
- AWB attends your site on a confirmed schedule and clears the floor
- Who transports
- AWB — our trucks, our handling, our labour
- Your effort
- Set bins aside as they're emptied; nothing else
- Tracking
- Photo-verified at pickup, live in your client portal
- Best for
- Distribution centres and large produce operations with material accumulating on-site
Scenario B · Backhaul tracking
Your backhaul brings it to us.
- How material moves
- Stores load return freight onto trucks already heading back to the DC
- Who transports
- Your existing fleet — zero new freight movements
- Your effort
- A 15-second QR scan at the store dock; no logins, no training
- Tracking
- Live in-transit visibility, itemised and store-attributed at our hub via the ReRun platform
- Best for
- Retail networks with many stores feeding central DCs
Primary service
Pallet bin recovery
Hat bins — the large cardboard bulk bins used to transport produce such as watermelons and pumpkins — are designed for repeated use, but most distribution centres lack the resources to manage recovery at volume. Without a dedicated service, serviceable bins routinely enter the waste stream.
AWB Adelaide operates a structured collection and recovery service for these materials. We attend your DC on a confirmed schedule, remove and flatten bins, and transport them to our Adelaide facility for assessment and sorting. Recoverable bins are returned to circulation through growers and produce packers; non-recoverable material is processed appropriately.
The result for your operation is a single, accountable contractor managing a material stream that would otherwise contribute to your landfill figures — with a documented, evidence-backed diversion record verified at the point of collection.
Flexible collection schedule
Collections are structured to your DC's throughput — fortnightly, weekly, or on-demand — and confirmed in advance.
Photo-verified collections
Each collection is photographed and timestamped at the point of pickup, providing a verified record for your sustainability and compliance teams.
Full material accountability
Non-recoverable bins are logged individually with the reason for rejection — giving your team a complete, accurate picture of all material handled, not just the recoverable portion.
Reverse-logistics tracking
Tracking and data capture for return freight.
Through our ReRun platform, AWB Adelaide tracks recoverable materials moving back through the retail supply chain — from the store dock to our facility. Store staff log a return in seconds with a QR scan; the network watches its freight live; and every load is counted again, itemised, and attributed to its store on receipt.
The result is a verified chain of custody for materials that previously moved untracked — turning informal waste-shunting into audit-ready diversion data your sustainability and compliance teams can stand behind.
The process
How it works
Bins are set aside on-site
Your team consolidates hat bins as they are removed from pallets — no special handling or preparation required.
AWB collects on a confirmed schedule
Our driver attends on the agreed schedule, removes and flattens bins, and clears the material from your site.
Sorting and recovery at our facility
Bins are assessed and sorted by size. Recoverable units are returned to circulation; non-recoverable material is responsibly processed.
Verified data in your portal
Each collection is recorded with photo evidence and diversion data, available in your portal immediately after pickup.
